my last day in cambodia

This my last day blogging from Cambodia. But looking back this has been one of the best trips of my life we did so much in so little time.We learned more about Cambodia, helped an orphanage, went to see the kings palace, and we went to Angk Wat to see and learn about these amazing temples that had amazing carvings. Yes, I am mad leaving, but I am happy leaving knowing that we accomplished so much and that orphans have a healthier home.

leaving the orphans

Yesterday was supper exciting day for all of us for the last day we had a party. We all started playing games, dancing to music, and playing sports. Everybody is having a great time. Then we had mad the kid dinner and it was the first time that the kids had there own piece of chicken to them self and we mad them something real special dissert ice cream with, bananas, and sprinkles. They loved it and I don't think that any of them had every been full in there life's because all of them were showing us how big there stomachs were. After that it was dark out and then the party was started we were hard core and dancing it was amazing. Then the music stopped and all of us new what was happening and even the kid new we all started to give each other huge's and did not let go until we had to........ then tears started coming out and no buddy wanted to leave we had so much love for every single one of those kids and none of us could hold it in. When we got in to the tuk-tuk they would hold our hands and sprint so that our hands would still touch. Once they let go it was the hardest feeling ever i felt like my heart cracked into 1000 pieces and the only way you could feel that love you would have to see those kids again. I have never loved anybody that much and only knowing them for to weeks........

day 21 Khmer dancing

We are so close to making the orphanage a brand new place and a health new place for the kids and the adults that are helping there. Today the kids had there dance class and let me just tell you it is nothing like dance classes in America. The lady that tout them was super strict like there arm would be slightly the wrong direction and she would hit there arm pretty hard, so that was very interesting to watch just to listen to all of the complaining dancer's in Colorado there hard is easy going in Cambodia. Other from that we played monkey in the middle for a long time that was really funny.

Sopia and day 20

Another fun cleaning day with the finishing touches on the orphanage, we cleaned the bathrooms, washed clothes, played with the kids. There is someone i would like you guys to hare about and his name is Sopia is a 27, blind gentlemen that is very sweet to everyone and everyone loves him and not because he blind but because he play's with every one how all the other kids play with there friend. He is also very talented with music he play's the drums and sings a little and he is amazing with making animal sounds. Another thing that not a lot of  Cambodians are good at is speaking English and understands you understand him. I wish that i knew his story but maybe i will find out...

day 17 our time

Today was a very important day we went to about 4 different orphanages and played with them and gave them clothes and surplies. So it was a long day but all of us enjoyed every minute of it, because seeing those kids smile makes you want to smile.(By the  way it is haley's BIRTHDAY TOMORROW!!!!!).

day 16 our time

It was a prety interesting day, it was my birthday and I was not feeling good at all my stomatch was killing. So I tried to get over it becuase I did not want to let the orphans feel bad so when I got to the orphanage I was feeling even worse so laid down. About four hours later I was listening the to the song baby baby by JB and so I sat up and I was feeling so much better so I thought that I should join them. Once I got to the stage (thats is were they do everything) and I saw everyone dancing I thought I should join. The kids there are amazing dancers they were making me look like a bad dancer and that is hard to do (just kidding). Me shaking my body around was probably not the best idea so I went back to sleep for about 15 minutes. Then Miss.Gutman woke me up because we had made the kids a special meal. I stood up took a step then therw up about 4 times and it went all over my feet. Then one of the kids took my hand and brought me over to the well (where the  get there water) and washed my feet of and that made my day. Then I got up to the stage and everyone started singing happy birthday to my and there was confetti,  putting beautiful necklaces on my neck and they made a special cake because they knew that I was sick which made my day even more. After we left I went to doctor while the other kids went to a different orphanage. It turned out that i have Typhoid Fever . After we left the doctors the front desk ladies brought me flip-flop earings and a bunny clip for my birthday which was very sweet. The next day i feel much better and i did not throw up once.

day 15 our time

Today we did a lot of community service like cleaning up the orphanage. There was some workers there that were building another roof  so that the rain would not fall on the kids when they were sleeping and they started in the morning and finished by about 5:00 I mean they were like non stop. So while they were doing that all of us were cleaning trash and there was a lot of trash and a lot of maggots or de-lousing the orphans which took a long time because some had a lot of  lice and others had none. After we were done with all ther hard work it looked like a brand knew place.

home sweet home

It is the first day and I feel like I have been here for a months!!!!!! I am speechless, every one here is super nice and they are always smiling. I can't wait for the orphanage tomorrow. I have been loved by every single Cambodian person here and the orphans are wanting to be loved more then everyone else!!!!! I still feel like I am dreaming and the day that we had today was amazing... first we went to orientation and learned about the language, culture, all the things not to do in public in Cambodia, and played games about the things that we learned in orientation. Next we went to the khmer rouge museum and it was cool but also really sad (and our guide was one of the survivors), and we also went to the killing feilds. To lighten up the mood we did really fun thing like, we went to a olympic stadom and watched a soccer game, then someone turned on the music and the party started we all started to dance, we were all following this guy and let me tell you it was super fun. Last we jumped on trampolines, that was fun.Now we are going to bed early beause we have a big day at the orphanage tomorrow. : D
